STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHER

Photographic Synergy are looking for a dynamic Photographer to join our successful team. You need to be confident, outgoing and great with people. We will consider a trainee or junior, as well as an experienced and creative portrait photographer.

The job involves creating a rapport and a fantastic experience for our customers as you photograph them and capture their personalities, in cutting edge and creative ways. You will edit and retouch all their images and present their final artwork in our luxurious cinema style viewing rooms. You’ll then guide and advise them on products based on their interior and budget requirements, so an element of selling is required, however there will be no hard sell. 

Between edits, shoots and viewings you’ll be booking our customers into the diary, meeting and greeting, as well as showing them their final artwork when people collect their orders. You may also be required to work on local exhibitions, promoting the studio to prospective clients.

  • Requirements:
    · Experienced in studio portrait photography
  • · Knowledge of Adobe Light / Photoshop to a high level
  • · Be creative and work well in a team

  • · Be comfortable with kids and grown-ups, and the occasional family pet

Location, Hours & Pay

We’re located just off junction 22 of the M25, Willows Activity Farm, St Albans, AL4 0PF. Hours will be Tuesday-Saturday, full time, 40 hours per week with occasional Sunday’s. Salary £18,500 to £21,000 p/a plus team bonuses, depending on experience, qualifications and performance.

SALES, PROMOTIONS & EXHIBITS

The biggest aspect of the job involves interacting with the public. You need to be confident, friendly and able to read people. The aim is to get people interested in what we do at the studio and where interested take some contact details so we can follow up with them. 

The role is very much part time and revolves around the best times to engage with the public at different locations. That may be in school fetes and fairs, local high streets, parks, Willows Activity Farm and local private leisure clubs. We ask you to drive to these locations and use an iPad and marketing pack which you either carry or use a foldup table and pop-up banner to display what we’re all about at Photographic Synergy. Sometimes you may be working alone, and other times working alongside a colleague.

Hours can be Monday-Sunday, will often involve weekends, part time shift work, with hours changing week-to-week. Pay  £10-£30 p/h plus team bonuses, depending on experience, qualifications and performance.

SALES EXECUTIVE

We’re seeking one full time, or two part time front of house appointment coordinators to come and join our team. The role involves you taking care of our clients when they arrive for their appointments, putting them at ease for the photography shoot or viewing. Day-to-day general enquiries will form part of your role, as well as administration and unveiling clients finished products and artwork when they arrive to collect them. You will be calling our potential clients (no cold calling), having them come and enjoy one of our great experiences, educating them on our products and booking them into our busy diary. You’ll be getting our customers excited, educated, and will help the initial shoot by developing ideas (discussing props, hobbies and family) with your customers over the telephone before they come in. You must feel confident having an open and authentic conversation.

Who we are looking for:

You need to be confident and face-to-face. You must be tenacious, someone who is positive and resilient who relishes the challenge of building new relationships and new business opportunities. In return you get to work with a great team, see all of the great work we create and help prepare the clients before our photographers create their artwork. A high level of motivation and enthusiasm are a must as well as an ability to effectively communicate with an excellent telephone manner, expressing ideas clearly and confidently. An outgoing and approachable person, you will be driven, self-motivated and confident. You will be honest, reliable and smart in appearance, whilst being flexible and willing to go that extra mile. Relevant experience and any special skills are welcomed, and a proven ability of dealing with customers over the telephone and face-to-face would be advantageous.

Hours & Pay

Hours will be 1 member of staff working full time, Tue-Sat, 9:30am–17:30pm, 40 hours per week with some evenings; or 2 members of staff working part time with one Mon–Fri 10:00am–2:00pm, and the other Wed–Fri 10:00am–2:00pm, then Saturday 9:30am-17:30pm, 20 hours each per week with some evenings. Overtime is possible dependent upon the business needs. Salary £8.75 to £10.00 p/h plus team bonuses, depending on experience, qualifications and performance.
